About

My name is Rich Brainerd. I am an advertising photographer in Rochester, NY. I’ve been with what is now Rich Brainerd Studios, Inc. since 1989. We photograph everything… still life, people, technology, location, and food & drink. I love what I do, and I’m very thankful for all of my marvelous friends and clients.

I’m madly in love with my wife, Heather, and we have 3 boys. (Currently in December of 2017, ages 17, 16, and 14.)

I spend a lot of my time preparing to eat and to drink. In many cases, I photograph it first. In fact, I can usually be seen with my camera (even if it’s my iPhone) at many restaurants. I photograph food in the studio and out… you should see some of each on my blog.

I do shoot a wide variety of things other than food, so even though they might be off topic, I might sneak some highlights in!

I hope to reach out to some interesting people, and find out what they like to eat and drink… photographing it in the process….as well as documenting some of our travels.

I use lots of exclamation points! Because… I’m passionate about food. I tend to write like I talk. I use parentheses a lot, since I’m always trying to think of everything (and want to fit it in).

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

……………………………………….

I thought it was important to say…..unless stated, I have not been compensated for anything I post on my blog. I may post about items I have photographed as actual work, however, it’s my own opinion, based on my own experience, done on my own time.

Yes, I’d be happy to sell you the rights to a photo. And yes, I’d love to be hired by you to make your product look marvelous!

  1. I was just going to drop a comment saying how awesome your food photography is, then saw in your About that you’re from Rochester. Small world, me too! Great work.
